Reasons to visit


Verbier is located in the South West part of Switzerland, within the canton of Valais. It is one of Switzerland's largest holiday resorts and ski domains in the Swiss Alps and is world renowned for its 'off-piste' pursuits, supported by the fact that some areas are snow covered all year round. Due to the wonderful conditions many top skiers use the Verbier areas as their home base, as it allowes them to take full advantage of the steep slopes, the variety of conditions and of course the resort culture.

Verbier is accessible by by road or train, with a well run service taking visitors on the Saint Bernard Express from Martigny to Le Chable and from there a cable car ( or bus ) goes on up to Verbier. 

Verbier itself is small enough to be explored by foot, without the need for a car, but in addition free buses run regularly around the resort throughout the day.

The Ski Domain has something to offer everyone, raning from 1500m ( Verbier Village ) right up to Mont Fort at 3330m, from here can be nejoyed magnificent panoramic views of the Matterhorn Crevin, Dom, Dentes Blanches etc. Verbier is part of the 4 Vallees ski network, which includes, Nendaz, La Tzoumaz, Veysonnaz and Thyon, between them providing 410 km of marked ski runs.

Verbier is also a very popular summer destiination, with over 400km of hiking trails, where those who enjoy outdoor pursuits can follow the tracks of the local wildlife, which includes Chamois and Ibex. In addition there are 200km of mountain bike routes as well as other acitivities, which include, climbing, swimming, para-gliding, badminton, golf and a very well attended and popular annual music festival.
