La Toussuire itself is one of 6 villages that make up the Les Sybelles ski domain. With all connections above 2000m for snow surety, it is unknown to many outside of of France. Similarly the St Francois de Longchamp/Valmorel (160km) and Valloire/Valmeinier (165km) ski domains are also 35 – 45 mins away. The first cable car opened its doors to passengers in La Toussuire this winter as part of a 2 phase plan to access l’Ouillon at 2441m in the middle of the ski domain. Once phase 2 is complete on 2025, the longer term aim is to create the highest recreational park in the Alps.

Within the town of St Jean de Maurienne, just 20 minutes from La Toussuire, there is also the future International train station under construction. Connecting Paris – Lyon – Chambery – St Jean de Maurienne – Turin - Milan, it is Europe's largest infrastructure project. Planned for completion by 2030, once finished, La Toussuire will become the closest ski resort to the centre of Paris in the French Alps.
