The 2014/2015 Ski Season is approaching fast !

For some of us, including this blogger, the bags are still not yet fully unpacked from the summer holidays, but now is the time, if you haven’t done so already, to start thinking about your ski holiday. A lot of accommodation for the main holiday periods of Christmas, New Year and February half term has already been sold out, so you really need to be thinking about where you want to be. For those with children, now is also the time to be thinking about booking places in ski school and equipment hire, booking trains/planes and ferries, as well as your accommodation.

When you are in resort, the good news is a stronger pound means your money goes further, however this has also meant that a more resilient economy and the increased positive news coming out of the financial markets, does mean that ski holidays have already sold very strongly, with two of the biggest ski package holiday operators, Thomson and Crystal reporting an increase of up to 25% on last year, with many family rooms in some of their most popular resorts having already sold out.

There is a very similar story in the luxury rental market, where discerning clients are looking for a fully catered property, with properties in prime locations (many ski in and out), that offer a range of services such as a butler service, a fully stocked cellar, an on-site chef, swimming pool, spa facilities, amongst others. This part of the market has been equally active in planning for the winter season ahead, but if you hurry there are still some amazing properties available to rent.

Alpine Property Investments, have earlier in the summer started to market prime, luxury rental properties in Meribel and Courchevel, with Megeve coming on line also soon. We have done this as a result of demand from our clients, many of whom have chosen to rent a property ahead of purchasing in their chosen resort.

Properties still available to rent in Meribel during the key winter weeks are

Christmas: Chalet La Sapiniere - €18,400 for 7 days

New Year: Chalet Druchka  - from €85,800 for 2 weeks

February Half-Term: Chalet Tichka – from €24,000 for 7 days

Properties in Courchevel, include

Christmas: Chalet Aigle Blanc, €28,500, for 7 days

New Year: Chalet Les Bluets, €41,000, for 7 days

February Half Term: Chalet Astragale, €28,500, for 7 days

All chalet services can be tailored to your own needs and requirements.
