La Tania, Savoie, Rhone Alps
Described as the 3 Valleys best kept secret, La Tania is a ski resort ideally located between Courchevel and Meribel,both of which are easily accessed from the resort, as well as the more challenging area of Val Thorens. At an altitude of 1400m La Tania was developed for 1992 Olympics hosted at Albertville and is easily accessible by road, with Moutiers just 25 minutes away.
La Tania is renowned as a family friendly village, which is set in the heart of the forest La Tania and is a true ski in and ski out resort. There are two superb red runs, one perfect blue and a gentle green, which takes skiers back to their accomodation, there are a couple of lovely restaurants at the foot of the ski run, where you can enjoy a relaxing lunch or a quiet evening after enjoy the full rigours of a day's skiing in the 3 Valleys.
The resort is fully pedestrianed, offer security and peace of mind to children, skiers and their families. Le Tania has a lovely cosy, family-friendly atmosphere, which attracts families back time and time again.
For both beginners and children there are gentle nursery slopes, with the added benefit of a free nursery drag lift right at the foot of the ski lifts. In addition there are also a number of easy blues to try higher up in the Courchevel Valley.
Good skiers will really enjoy the seemingly limitless number of challenging routes that are available to those based in the resort of La Tania. The is a state of the art gondola, which speeds skiers up to the slopes of Courchevel 1300 and 1500, and a chairlift which links up to Meribel, giving further access tot he vast 600kms of runs in the wider 3 Valleys network.
Advanced skiers are also well catered for, with superb skiing opportunities on offer, with many off-piste trails, exciting mogul fields and fantastic tree lined descents.
