Authentic Alpine charm in Manigod

Thinking of investing in property in the French Alps? For authentic Savoyard charm, Manigod is surely the Alpine village for you, full of rustic traditional buildings and nestled in a valley that’s as picturesque in the summer months as it is covered in snow during the ski season.

Manigod offers peace, quiet and seclusion, without compromising on the amenities available. It’s part of the La Clusaz-Manigod ski area, through which you can access 125km of slopes, or serious skiers can plump for a pass covering the whole Aravis massif, providing access to a whopping 220km of slopes. A unique feature of some of these slopes is that they’re lit at night, offering a magical skiing experience in the crisp night air of the Alps.

It’s far from just downhill skiing that makes Manigod a tempting proposition, though. This area is as famed for its cross-country skiing opportunities as it is its downhill runs, and has been described as a ‘haven’ for Nordic skiing enthusiasts, offering groomed tracks through pristine snow-covered landscapes.

And there’s plenty to keep you busy during the summer months too, with a myriad of ways to enjoy the stunning scenery of the Aravis range. From cycling and hiking to the more adrenaline-fuelled adventure sports of paragliding and mountain biking, you’re sure to love the incredible outdoor activities accessible from Marigod in the warmer months.

And, quiet as it is, you’ll find Manigod just a 35 minute drive from the larger town of Annecy, known for its quaint Vieille Ville (old town) and its lakeside location. Known as the ‘Venice of the Alps’ for the small waterways that wind through it, it’s well worth a visit if you’re spending time in Manigod.
