Summer styling: Refresh your Alpine property for the summer months

Traditional Alpine styling leans heavily on the cosy, which is perfect for the snowy winter months. But come the summer, this sort of decor might not feel quite right. Whether you’re renting out your property or using it yourself, we’ve got some top tips for taking your Alpine chalet from winter to summer and back again.

The easiest way to change the feel of a property is to refresh the accessories - and it couldn’t be easier to do. One option is to keep two sets of soft furnishings in your home, one for the winter months and one for the summer months, to rotate between as the weather changes.

Where cosy sheepskin rugs, luxurious throws and knitted cushions will help add warmth to your home in the winter, having some summery options to swap in can change the whole look and feel of your property.

Stylists suggest swapping deep pile rugs for woven floor coverings and opting for brighter, more summery colours during the warmer months, which applies to throws and blankets too.

Swapping bedding for options that are lighter both in weight and in colour can help to change the feel of a room, while throw pillows on beds and sofas are also an easy way to change the styling.

If you’re renting out your property you might also want to think about what items you supply for your guests to use; a picnic basket and some stylish (and unbreakable!) crockery might go down well with summer visitors, but wouldn’t be much use for those visiting during the ski season.

There are lots of ways to keep your Alpine property looking and feeling fresh and desirable for all your guests, be they friends, family or paying customers. If you’re interested in finding out more about investment property in the Alps, get in touch with us today.
