Morzine is a sport lover's dream!

You would be way off the mark to think that the only winter sport available in Morzine is skiing. This beautiful resort is a paradise for any outdoor sports enthusiast looking for property for sale in the Alps. If you need a break from the slopes, or skiing just isn't really your thing, Morzine has many sporting alternatives you can enjoy, whether solo or as a family. Here are a just a few of them:

Running

Running through the mountains makes a nice change to jogging around your local neighbourhood! Swap suburban streets for breathtaking mountain scenery, whether you like to run alone or as part of a group. Completely immerse yourself in the natural surroundings or take a jog to the Savoyard village for welcome respite at lunch.

Ice skating

Another way to enjoy the ice is by skating on it at Morzine's very own 30 x 15m outdoor ice rink. Twirl and whirl with the mountain tops as your backdrop.

Indoor swimming

Swimming in the Alps isn't just reserved for the warmer seasons. Morzine boasts an indoor swimming centre, complete with sauna and restaurant, perfect for any winter days that may be just a bit too cold or blustery.

Ice climbing

For something truly thrilling, ice climbing is another way to enjoy the mountains. Take full advantage of temporary ice falls or climb on well-known ridge routes. Either way, you're guaranteed to get the adrenaline going.

Sledging

Something to take you right back to your childhood - sledging isn't just for the kids. Take a trip up the Pléney ski runs in the cable car and race each other while sledging down them. Experiencing this at night makes it all the more exciting and memorable.

Ice diving

You may have been scuba diving elsewhere in much warmer waters, but do you know anyone who has done this under ice? This fascinating opportunity allows those brave enough to swim in the frozen depths of Lake Montriond to see its marine life.

Speed riding

This hairraising combination of skiing and paragliding is not for the faint hearted, adding a twist to traditional skiing. Take a beginner's course in speed riding and you will soon be able to fly through the mountains.

Snow-shoeing

This sporting activity is perfect for the avid walker. Take a trip away from the skiing hot spots and discover untouched areas of natural beauty in the Alps.
