Summer Fun in Meribel

As a family we love Meribel, not just for the skiing in winter, but the huge choice of activities to be had over the summer also. Offering a very relaxed approach to a mountain holiday, Meribel has something to offer everyone.

Golf

Meribel is well known for its technically challenging golf course that boasts some amazing views. For keen golfers this is a must visit, as it not only offers a great way to relax, but due to the altitude, the ball travels further, providing a different experience to your usual round of golf. The course also boasts and excellent driving range, for those wanting to practise, or why not opt to take a lesson with a qualified golf pro?

Walking and Hiking

Nothing can beat the exhilaration of a mountain walk or hike, the opportunity to take in the fresh mountain air, to admire the breathtakingly beautiful scenery that Meribel has to offer and the opportunity to see some of the mountain wildlife, up close and personal (just not too close please!).A definite to visit has to be the Vanoise National Park, which enjoys an abundance of wildlife, including, chamois, marmots, ibex, and eagles. Why not pack a picnic of bread, cheese and meats and head off for an open air adventure, a perfect way to enjoy the Alps at its best. For the more hard core walkers, there is also the opportunity to enjoy some of the local culture along the way, some places offering overnight stays, so you can keep walking as long as your legs will allow.

Hot Air Ballooning

A beautiful and serene way to enjoy the very best that Meribel scenery has to offer from the sky. Letting Mother Nature set your course, depending on which way the wind once to take you, suspended hundreds of feet above the ground. There is nothing more exciting that waiting and watching to see what wildlife you will see along the way, whilst having the chance to appreciate the stunning scenery at a different level to the norm. 

White Water Rafting

For those looking for something more adventurous, then you can't beat the thrill of white water rafting. The opportunity to appreciate Meribel's picturesque River Isere, riding the waves on an inflatable raft, with a qualified instructor, is something not to be missed and is great for families and thrill seekers alike.

Mountain Biking

The slopes of the winter turn into incredibly exhilarating tracks in the summer, where skis are replaced by two wheels and the opportunity to experience a whole different side of Meribel. Meribel offered nearly 100km of trails and with the ski lifts open and specifically adapted to carry bikes, then this offers the best way to experience the very best alpine terrain. Surrounded by the sheer beauty of the Three Valleys, you will have the opportunity to experience the best mountain biking on offer.

Meribel has no end of activities on offer during the summer, including the Olympic Centre, offering a Swimming Pool, Climbing Wall and ten pin bowling and if you are after something a little more relaxing, then the Spa will certainly be a welcome place to lie back and be pampered.
