At an altitude of 1650m in an exceptional setting, the dual season resort of St Francois Longchamp with its huge abundance of snow and sun every year, sits at the centre of the large 165km, Grand Domaine ski area that includes the resort of Valmorel. Nestled between the Maurienne and Tarentaise valleys and a season that runs from mid December to mid April, the area with skiing to 2550m offers an extensive and varied ski terrain made up of 24 green, 39 blue, 19 red, 8 black piste all serviced by 45 lifts. For those looking to snowboard there are also 4 fun zones, 2 snow parks, 1 snowboard cross and one half pipe, while for Cross Country skiers there are 60km of trails available.

With the resort having the Family Plus label which guarantees services dedicated to families, these include reception, activities, day care and ski schools. Only 4 hours by TGV from Paris or two hours drive from Lyon, Geneva or Turin airports, it is just 12km from the St Avre - La Chambre train station. Chambery airport only 90km away is reached within 1 hour, while Grenoble is just 1 hour 30 minutes away. To and from St Francois Longchamp there are shuttle services to Lyon and Chambery airports as well as Le Arve station.

In summer there are an abundance of things to do including 250km of sign posted hiking paths, 13 mountain bike trails, 50 cycling routes for road bikes, 4 lakes and swimming in the outdoor pool under blue skies.

A life size playground the resort is pleased to offer its amazing 40km/hr, 1050m, 4 season tobbogan with its 250m vertical descent, Balneotherapy Spa Centre offering 2500m2 of well being and relaxation that includes pools, saunas, steam baths, jacuzzis, fitness hall and gym, bowling alley and bar, climbing, Segway, paragliding and freestyle airbag to name a few. Home of the famous and one of the most difficult monutain passes in France, the Col de la Madeleine renowned within the Tour de France, electric bikes are available for those that dont want to do it under their own steam.
