Meribel, Savoie, Rhone Alps
Meribel was founded in 1938 by British born Peter Lindsay, and has retained a strong British influence and presence to this day. It is located in the central valley of the Three Valleys and has four inter-linked villages, Les Allues, Meribel Village, Meribel Mottaret and of course the resort of Meribel itself. Meribel is at the hub of the famous 'Trois Vallee' ski area, there is over 650km of pisted slopes as well as extensive off-piste area to explore.
A loyal band of regular visitors simply love Meribel and it is not difficult to understand why. Meribel is one of the most tastefuly conceived french purpose-built resorts. With wood-clad buildings, chalet style and mostly low rise, and this includes a large number of individual chalets, not just apartments. With a superb selection of shops, bars, restaurants and sporting facilities to enjoy apres-ski, Meribel is justifiably proud of its position as a world-class ski resort.
Stretching from 1300m to 3230m, the Three Valleys boasts the largest interlinked ski area in the world, as well as having access to the highest ski resorts in Europe.
