Which ski resort suits your level?

Not all ski resorts are created equal – some offer incredible skiing while others are more of a draw for the apres-ski scene; some are busy even in the summer months, while some become ghost towns between May and November.

If you’re thinking of buying a chalet or apartment,  it’s important to make sure it’s somewhere that’s right for you and your family, as well as all of those things it’s key to find a ski resort that provides you with the level of skiing that works for you.

Best resorts for beginners and children

If you’ve got children in your family and you’re hoping to get them bitten by the ski bug, you’ll want somewhere that’s child friendly while they get a feel for the slopes.

Resorts in the 4 Vallées area of Switzerland which include Nendaz and Verbier, offer childrens’ areas with facilities including free ‘baby lifts’ and ‘magic carpet’ style ski lifts that are easy for the little ones to use. Nendaz also offers free snow tubing for children, and both resorts have plenty of ski school options for kids as young as three.

These resorts make great destinations because of the variety that they offer; alongside great beginners’ and kids’ skiing options, they also have plenty to cater for the more experienced skier.

Best resorts for intermediate skiers

Chamonix is a brilliant choice for intermediate skiers and groups of mixed ability; there are runs to suit various levels and preferences.

It’s also an excellent destination for those who wish to try cross country skiing, with beautiful scenery and routes of all lengths available to try out.

A good selection of apres-ski hang outs and spas means that less enthusiastic skiers will also have plenty to keep them occupied.

Best resorts for advanced skiers

While Morzine and Les Gets, offer great easy ski slopes for youngsters and beginners, it’s also close by to Avoriaz, a must-visit destination for those with plenty of experience.

Varied and adventurous off-piste options make it ideal for skiers and snowboarders looking for an adrenalin rush!

If you’re thinking of buying a chalet or apartment in Nendaz, Verbier, Chamonix, Les Gets or Morzine, or any of the other Alpine resorts we sell in, please do get in touch to lets discuss what we can offer you.
