Extreme sports for all seasons in the Alps

For those of us who love to ski, there’s nothing like the thrill of adrenaline coursing through your body on a good downhill run - but unfortunately, in most parts of the world, skiing isn’t an all year round activity.

Luckily for us, there are plenty of other extreme sports to get the blood pumping - and you can enjoy many of them in the same mountains where you’ll find the world’s best skiing - the Alps.

Not far from Les Gets you’ll find Samoëns and the Grand Massif; some of Europe’s best mountain biking territory. Biking in areas where there are ski lifts can save a lot of uphill slogging, while allowing you to enjoy all the fun of a fast, downhill biking experience.

With no-one for company but cows and sheep, summer in this neck of the woods affords you some truly spectacular views on your bike ride!

Near the colossal Mont Blanc you’ll find the four lakes of Savoie Mont Blanc and here you’ll find almost every watersport under the sun on offer during the summer months. Adventurous types will love kite surfing and water skiing, while those who fancy a day off from the high-adrenaline sports can relax with some gentle paddle-boarding.

Of course, that barely scratches the surface of the extreme sports that the Alps has to offer. From white-water rafting to caving, climbing and hang-gliding, you’re never far from an experience that will get your blood pumping.

If you love extreme sports then the Alps are the best place for you to buy a holiday home. With so much on offer right on your doorstep all year round, the Alps are a perfect getaway whether it’s for a weekend on the slopes in January or a week of watersports in the summer months.

We’ve got properties for sale all around the Swiss and French Alps, including in Praz Sur Arly, Chamonix, and St Gervais. Get in touch to find out more about buying a holiday home in the Alps and the beautiful properties in our portfolio.
