At an altitude of 1755m, a summit of 2391m  and a longer than average Canadian ski season ranging from mid November to mid April, Big White has become an increasingly popular destination in Canada to purchase property as well as drawing skiers and families to holiday at the resort.

With a whopping average of 24.5 ft or 7.5 metres of snow per year and a vertical drop of 777m (2550ft),  the 118 designated trails offer extensive and varied skiing for all skill levels. One of the largest International ski and snowboard schools with over 100 qualified instructors suitable to teach all ages and abilities are based here as well.

Big White currently offers skiers and boarders a massive resort area of 7,355 acres of amazing playtime of which 2765 acres are patrolled, 905 acres are groomed  and alpine / glade areas make up 1525 acres. The addition of 6 new runs in 2006 put a further 200 acres of ski terrain into the resort and this is just the first part of expanding the mountain to meet demand and improve the experience.

The mountain is a natural paradise for snowboarders with wide variety of runs including glades, gullies, treelines , and bowls. Telus Park terrain park with its own lift has Olympic size super pipe, snow cross course and rail park. Boarders of all abilities can find terrain to suit their tastes and needs.

The village offers a lively après ski scene in the bars and pubs including live bands, while there is an extensive selection of activities for all ages including movie nights, bonfires with hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows, fireworks, carnival nights, skating and the largest night skiing opportunities in Canada.

 

There’s a great choice of  restaurants ranging from cafe’s to International fine dining serving award wining local wines. A total of 17 restaurants, cafe’s and deli’s are currently available including 8 lounges and bars.

Owned by the same owners as Big White, Silver Star Mountain with its own 115 runs, 2500ft vertical drop and 3065 acres of skiable piste can also be experienced by using the daily inter mountain shuttle using the same lift pass. 

Very easy to get to the resort is only 35 miles (56km) south east of Kelowna’s International Airport the largest City in the Okanagan Valley with frequent daily shuttles to and from the resort taking between 45—60 mins.

 

Kelowna International Airport is serviced by many of the top Canadian Airlines including Air Canada, with simple interconnecting flights direct from airports such as Vancouver, and Toronto. Air Canada’s introduction of its jet service last season from Vancouver and Calgary has cut flight times to just 40 minutes ensuring you are on the snow in an hour and 45 mins from landing at Vancouver
